Churrasco Woolloomooloo

To celebrate Sheila's birthday I took her with mom and dad to Churrasco at Woolloomooloo. It's quite similar to Brazil Brazil, with the same concept of Green for more food, and Red once you're too full and starting to feel guilty about being a complete glutton! The main difference is that in Churrasco there's no buffet area. They take the sauces and the sides (Feijoada, Potato Salad and Rice) to your table. And that means you can focus on the eating part, and not worry about getting up to get some sides. And you have to order the salads separate. And also I don't think they have seafood. It's mostly Meat, and other stuff.

WildFire also has a Brazilian Style BBQ for lunch. Sheila and I tried it before, but I'd rather not go back. First of all, WildFire is more expensive. And of course being a Fine Dinning restaurant the staff are really snobbish and uptight. They're so full of themselves that I can't even take pictures of the food! On the other hand, Churrasco's staff are very friendly. And the ambiance of the restaurant is very relaxed and very communal. They won't give you a dirty look if you ask for a can of Brazilian fruit juice rather than a glass of red wine, or two Chicken Hearts instead of just one!

I think the fruit juice is perfect because I'm eating mostly meat. The Chicken Sausage is superb! It's very soft and very juicy. The Chicken Heart is quite yummy too! But not for the squeamish! And it's good to have Grilled Pineapple because it goes really well with Roasted Pork.

And then there's the Grilled Cheese. I'm not sure if it's Bocconcini or Goat's Cheese, or something completely different. But it was very nice and very succulent. Then there's the Sirloin, which was perfect medium-rare. It was so tender that I wish the waitress had more on the spit, but it was the last one. I had to wait for 20 minutes 'til they finished grilling more Sirloin. But it was worth it!

I also had the Lamb, which was also perfect Medium-Rare, and the Ham, which had just the right saltiness to it. Then there's the Chorizo, and of course three slices is just about perfect! And then I got my favorite... the Cheese Bread! They're like little fluffy bread balls, with what I think is mozzarella inside, but a lot more tasty!  And with the aroma I'm pretty sure that they just came out of the oven. Nice!

Then the Chicken Thighs came, and the Scotch Fillet. And after that I think I was pretty full already. And to sort of help the food go down quicker Sheila and I walked around and we had a look at the open kitchen where it's all happening. The scent of cooking meat above hot charcoal is amazing! If I had anymore room in my tummy I would've started eating again! YUM!
