Canapés, Bananas and Lemon Lime Bitters

Ashley mostly work downstairs at the bar, and sometimes she works in the restaurant too. And often after she finishes her shift, or if she's on a break she'd visit us in the kitchen. And for me it's all cool because we get to talk about a lot of stuff.

But Rob sometimes find her to be a bit annoying, especially whenever she wanders around the kitchen and touches things that she's not supposed to touch. And I think Ash feels that Rob's a bit mean to her, but I guess he only tells her off for her own good. Like that time when she started playing around with a really hot pan. You can almost hear Rob telling her not to touch it because it could burst into flame. And to her shock Rob showed her just how unpredictably dangerous a hot pan can be.

So when we had this cocktail function last week I asked her to work a few hours in the kitchen by helping Eduardo put together the canapés. And she seemed quite happy about working with food and the two of them did a pretty good job.

All the canapés and finger food looked amazing. You can tell that Eduardo and Ash put in a lot of effort to make them look good. They both deserve a pat on the back. Avi is just awestruck by how nice the canapés were. Antoine however was in a funny mood and was being a bit too touchy. Hehehe!

We had a few extra pieces so Matt tried some. And although I never saw Ash eat any of the canapés while working on them I did catch her munching away inside the coolroom. Then Sheila turned up and I made her dinner. I'm so happy that she came because it made me feel more at ease, especially since the cocktail function was going so well. Then Jana and Ash had their picture taken with Sonia, who just started work a few days ago.

Everything was going well. But Simon's being quite sensitive and too edgy. Maybe it had something to do with all the chili that put in his food. Hehehe! I wouldn't say that it was an easy day, but I just kept cool by eating a banana given to me by Rob, and by sipping 4 liters of Lemon Lime Bitters. Nice!
