Sweet As! |

The weather was awful last week. It's nothing like
summer in Sydney. One of the girls in the restaurant
commented that she traveled thousands of miles from
England only to see the same sort of weather. Oh
boy! In any case, it's not good for business when it
rains. We obviously can't sit anyone downstairs, and
it was equally as quiet in the restaurant upstairs. |

And while all that rain poured down outside, in the
kitchen we had a few issues that needed sorting. The
dishwashing machine and the combi-oven both required
servicing. And there's a gaping hole on the ceiling
exposing all the wires. Geez! |

It was turning out to be a sour week so I decided to
make something sweet. I made some Sticky Date
Pudding! And I served it complete with whipped
cream, strawberries and of course, thick, gooey
caramel sauce! |

Rob was also making sweet stuff. He's pouring
mascarpone over savoiardi (sponge fingers) soaked in
liqueur to make Tiramisu. And I think he wants to be
left alone. Hehehe! |

Despite being quiet we sold a few desserts. Another
favorite is the cheese platter, which has Blue
Cheese, Brie and Cheddar with crackers, dried fruit,
strawberries and quince paste. So even though the
weather was as crappy as hell, we were all good in
the kitchen. Sweet! |
