A Family Affair

11:21am Friday 28 March 2008 Manila (gmt+8)

I accompanied Miss SY to the Mall because she's got some errands to take care of. Of course, no time spent with SY is complete without us stuffing ourselves with food... so we went to McDonald's. I know, it's kind'a gross. I never really liked McDonald's that much. If I were in Sydney I'd rather go to Burger King, and here in Manila as much as possible I'd like to go to Jollibee... but we had to walk to the other end of the shopping mall so we thought we'd give it a pass this time. Anyway... I noticed on the packaging something that didn't make sense. What's a drawing of a rock climber doing on a container used for quarter pounder burgers? It just doesn't make sense! But Miss SY couldn't care less. She was so keen on eating her Caramel Sundae that she went ahead without using the plastic spoon. Hehehe!

Later in the evening I met up with my relatives here in Banawe. Vanessa's baby is one month old and it's an occasion worthy of a get-together. Almost everyone showed up. There were so many of us that they had to split us into two tables. I ended up on the table with my cousin JR and Marco. And as with any other family occasion, there's always plenty of food. And I mean PLENTY!!! Like the Crispy Pata (Roasted Pork Shoulder)... one serving is enough to feed four "normal" people. But in our table, there's six of us... and we ended up having four whole servings of Crispy Pata... plus heaps of other stuffs. Geez! Hehehe!

The food just kept coming. So we just kept eating and eating and eating. Hehehe! Later in the evening I caught up with Miss SY. I wasn't expecting to meet up with her that evening because her family's got something on. But she snuck out just to be with me for half an hour. And she's wearing my shirt. Hehehe! Coolness! :)
