I know it's becoming an all too common
theme... but I just can't keep myself from
having Yum Cha at the
Sky Phoenix! |
|
I'm sure I've also become an all too
familiar sight for the usherette because her
face lights up with a big fat smile as soon
as she sees me climbing up the escalator.
And I never had to wait for a table... to
the dismay of those who arrived at the
podium first. Hehehe! |
|
I guess it's more like a ritual now. I just
have to have it! Having a steak or a cheese
platter is good... but there's something
soothing and satisfying about having Yum
Cha. |

On the left picture above there's the Prawn
dumplings, and the dim sums next to it are
stuffed with spinach and chicken. The basket
of dim sums on the right picture is stuffed
with chicken and cashew nuts and other
vegies. Ooh! |

|
I try to take two or three baskets / items
at a time because by the time the steam
trolley passes by my table it's already
almost empty. Well, at least my favorites
are already gone. |
|
But if it's taking too long I can ask the
waiter which items I like. Then he goes to
each trolley and fetches them for me. I'm
not quite sure though if they do it for
everybody. Perhaps they don't mind doing it
because they know me. |

For most people three baskets of dim sum is
already a meal in itself. But not for me! I
got myself 4 more items. |
|
From the top left going clockwise: Honey
Pork, Scallops dumplings, Roasted Duck and
Chicken with Corn dim sums. Yum!!!

I was 3 items short (I usually have 10
items!) but I was already too full. I wanted
to have coffee and sit back, but because
there were a lot of people waiting for a
table I paid my bill (plus a fat tip!) and
went to their lounge to have a latte. And
guess what... the manager saw me and I got
it for free. Coolness! :) |
