Daily Ritual

Saturday 7 July 2007 - 1:42 (gmt +10 / Sydney)

We all have our daily morning rituals. From the time I wake up 'til the time I get to the kitchen I'm pretty much in auto-pilot mode and I'm not a pleasant person to have a conversation with. Hehehe!

First I have to catch a train to the City. It's good if you get up early because the trains are still on schedule and they're almost empty. Later on, usually by around 8am they usually come late and they're packed like a can of sardines.

I prefer it to be rainy or overcast because it makes me feel good about being at work all day.. Because this morning it was really sunny I was a bit disappointed. Hehehe! But usually after I hit the gym I feel a lot better. I hurry onto Starbucks afterwards but despite my best effort I sometimes still don't make it there quick enough. By the time I get to the shop the queue already stretches all the way out unto the street. Geez!

Then I catch a bus to the Northern side of Sydney. It's a real treat because we go through the Harbour Bridge and I get to see the Opera House on a daily basis. Neat!

I really don't know how to describe it, but once I put on my chef's coat and apron I feel like a different person. It's probably like when Bruce Wayne puts on his Batman outfit. Yeah, sort of. Hehehehe!

Of course before I get grinding I try to have another cup of coffee which gives me a real boost! And after that I'm ready for another 12 hour day in the kitchen!
