Chinatown

Wednesday 21 February 2007 - 21:17 (gmt - 8 / San Francisco)

They say that the Chinatown in San Francisco is the biggest one in the world... outside of China, of course. Hehehe! Well, it's true. It goes on for several blocks and there's heaps of people and lots of food!

The street signs and other similar stuffs are also printed in Chinese. And like most Chinatowns that I've been to hardly anyone cares about the traffic rules. Anything goes. Hehehe! I felt like having Yum-Cha... but I was having cravings for something sweet. So I went looking...

A few blocks later I came across this patisserie called "Cocola". It was unbelievable!!! The shop itself is a real eye-candy. But their main attraction is their endless selection of beautifully garnished pastries and cakes. Not only do they taste good, they look great too! And they're very cheap also! Nope, they're not machine produced. I can tell that they're individually handmade because of the slight inconsistencies in their appearance. It took me ages to make up my mind, but eventually I settled on trying the blackberry mousse. It was so good, and so was their coffee that I took four other cakes with me home. SWEET!!!
