Easter Egging

Good Friday. There was hardly anyone in the city. I had the entire sidewalk to myself. Hehehe! Another perfect day in Sydney. I wish I could hang around to enjoy it but I had to go to work.
Uh-oh! My fridge finally died. I knew this was gonna happen. And unlike Jesus, it didn't come back to life on Easter Sunday.

On Saturday Elly came by to talk about her new job. She also wanted me to see her new menu. Then we went out for yum-cha at Sky Phoenix. Wow... look at those little sweet bean paste birdies! :)
After lunch she came across a pair of boots and she just had to try them on. Yup... they look alright! Easter Sunday. I was the only commuter at the train station. Geez... where's everybody?!

Easter Egging

I really didn't do much during Easter, other than work of course. Hehehe! Here in Australia, it's actually a long weekend. Good Friday and Easter Monday are both public holidays, plus the weekends... and you got four days off from work. That is, if you're doing a normal job like in an office or something. As for people like myself and Elly it's business as usual though.

Elly's a chef. She worked under me last year. A few months later I moved on, and she did the same. But once in a while we still manage to find time to see each other, like on Saturday. She's very funny. We always have a good laugh whenever we're together. Her innocent and youthful appearance conceals the fact that she knows as many dirty jokes as I do... and also the fact that she can drink as much alcohol as I can. Hehehe!

It was a welcome diversion to see and talk with her. I was having a really crappy time at work. The main service fridge broke down and it cannot be fixed like before. We need to buy a new set of coils and it can take a while because they are normally custom built. Without that fridge we're severely handicapped. I also have a problem with a couple of our suppliers. You know... not fulfilling their end of the bargain. Geez!

Regardless of whether you're religious or not, Easter symbolizes rebirth or a new beginning. Thus the Easter Egg. For me personally, it's a sort of cue to bring myself back to life... or to go and get one. Hehehe!

Happy Easter Everybody! :)
