Vine Ripened Tomatoes

We had to do a small function. Nothing seriously different. Ooh... I got a muffin this morning with my coffee. Coolness! :)
And I had a subway for lunch. Something out of the ordinary. I felt a bit naughty so I had a bowlful of vanilla ice cream too!
Vine Ripened Tomatoes! Wow, don't they look gorgeous! They're not fully ripe yet, but that's how I want them. Neat!

Vine Ripened Tomatoes

I've been busy as usual. Work as expected is taking a huge chunk of my time, even on days that I supposedly allocated as my time off. Anyhow, I'm not complaining. It's actually good because it means that the bistro is doing well, a lot better than it did when I took over just before Christmas.

I kind'a miss going out though. But then again what is there to miss? I'm not really the type of person who lives for the weekends. I guess as far as I'm concerned being at work and seeing things fall into place can be a lot more rewarding than drinking the night away. But we all need a bit of downtime. Sometimes the small amount of time I spend away from work can be the most productive. :)

Today something funny happened. One of the girls caught me eating a subway. I do it all the time though... for the sake of having something different. I cannot just eat stuffs out of the menu everyday. But I guess chefs are condemned to this popular impression that we only eat gourmet stuffs. Well, I know some who are like that. That's their problem. Hehehe!

Anyway, she stared at me as though I'm eating a duck embryo. Hehehe! (Better known as "balut" in authentic Filipino cuisine. A few years ago I brought a few of them to work after we talked about an episode of Fear Factor and I showed everybody how they're really eaten. The Restaurant Manager got irked with me because I made one of the waitresses too sick to work that day. Hehehe!)

On a more pleasant note, I'm very happy with our vegetable delivery today. Finally I got a box of vine ripened tomatoes just the way I want them! Woohoo! They're not too young, but neither are they fully ripe. The previous consignment was a bit of a disaster, good thing we can always use them for pasta sauce. But today they got it right. Coolness!

Mmm... I think I'm going to have a quick light snack. I'm having "balut" cravings. Yum! Hehehe!
