Thai Curry And Mortal Sin

Sunday 12 February 2006 - 21:10 [gmt+10]

I went to Darling Harbour today to watch the Dragon Boat Races. It was a nice day and it was really fun! Lots of tanned paddle wielding gals with wet jerseys.  Kate was checking out the guys. Hehehe!

I was with Kate, who didn't want her photo taken because of a huge pimple on her chin. Oops! :P For lunch we decided to have Thai. We went to Thai Foon and it was quite a treat!
For starters we had Satay Chicken. The Satay Sauce was really nice! For mains we had Roast Duck Salad with Tamarind Dressing.
We also had Chicken Curry. The curry's very mild, but very tasty. And a pot full of aromatic Saffron Rice. We ended up having two!
After lunch we had coffee and cakes. I never tried Mortal Sin before so I decided to have a slice. Now I know why they call it Mortal Sin. It's so rich and creamy... I felt so guilty! Hehehe!

Thai Curry And Mortal Sin

Sunday 12 February 2006 - 21:10 [gmt+10]

I wasn't really interested in watching the Dragon Boat Races but since I have nothing better to do I decided to come along. Kate's really into regattas and other similar events. I think she used to be in a rowing team back in high school. Plus it's rare for both of us to have a Sunday off from work being in Hospitality so we thought we'd do something worthwhile.

We decided to have lunch at Thai Foon where we can actually eat and watch the races at the same time. She could carry on checking out the guys in the races while I enjoy a plateful of Saffron Rice and Chicken Curry. Hehehe!

I have to say, the food was quite good. They were a bit more expensive than most Thai restaurants though, but we're in Darling Harbour so it doesn't surprise me. However there's an issue with their service. It's not the staff's fault. I think they were quite good given the circumstance that they were in. The problem was that whoever wrote the roster didn't put enough people on. With the Dragon Boat Races and being a really nice day it was very busy and three people working the floor isn't enough. We had to wait for 10 minutes before someone took our order.

After lunch we had coffee and cakes. I recalled Kat Mayo's recent suggestion... which was a dessert called Mortal Sin. Even though I pretty much know what it's made of I never once had it. So today I thought I'd give it a try. Then I found out for myself why it is called as such. Hehehe! It was so rich and creamy that I could almost feel it seeping into my waist. I felt so guilty! Hahaha! :P
