The
company that supplies our equipments are
a bit slack. I made a long list of items
that we need in the bistro and placed
the order in early December but it took
them so long to organize and deliver
them that I decided to go to their
showroom and pick up the stuffs that we
still haven't received.
The
showroom itself is just 10 minutes by
bus from where I live. Another advantage
is that I get to see and touch the
items, check them in and out and avoid
the confusion of buying stuffs out of a
catalogue and the hassle of sending the
wrong items back. Also since the same
company supplies our equipment we don't
have to pay the retail prices on
display. They're only for the general
public, we pay less... a lot less!
The
only issue that I have is that... um...
well... I have to restrain myself.
Everytime I walk into that showroom I
feel like a little boy walking into a
candy shop!!! And given the fact that we
have an account with them and that I can
basically grab any item and as many as I
want and just sign for it can be really
tempting! Hehehe!
So I
drew up a list. I knew I'd be in a daze
when I walk in so I decided to strictly
follow that list and pick up only the
stuffs that we really need in the
kitchen.
But
nothing could keep me from wandering
around from aisle to aisle... looking at
all those neat equipment, containers,
knives, uniforms, shoes, gadgets, etc...
all brand new, all shinny, all for me to
touch and feel! My favorite are those
handheld commercial power mixers.
All the new models are on display! I was
even allowed to plug them in and take
them for a 'test-drive'. OH MY
GOODNESS!!! *droooooooooooooooool!!!*
I went
there at 10am... and got out at 1pm! I
didn't notice the time and I could've
stayed 'till 5pm. As planned I only
picked up the stuffs that we really
need. The others... well, I can keep
dreaming about them! :)
After
that I went straight to my fave Chinese
restaurant for Yum-cha. All that
excitement in the showroom made me so
hungry! As you can see on the photo
above my table looked like a demolition
area. Yummy!!! *burp!!!* :) |
