Also Happy When It Rains

7 July 2002 Sunday 12:51am Sydney (gmt+10)

When I walked in at work today the first thing I noticed were everybody's long faces. I mean... kitchen people don't really smile that often... but there was just something in the air that didn't seem right. And Stacey's middle finger pretty much described everybody's mood. Hehehe!
And as I was briefed by Simon I realized that he really won't be staying for much longer. Although I agree that it would be a good move for him I was still disheartened because he's always been a good leader, not to mention very hard working.
As soon as I heard the news I just switched myself to "autopilot". I did my work, but my mind was somewhere else. I really don't want to talk about the details, or how it came to this. It really wasn't that important. What's done is done. I guess then I was thinking hard of what's ahead... and also in a flash I realized how important some of the people I work with have become to me personally... despite the relatively short time we've spent together.

So I decided not to soak myself in gloom. Instead I started cracking jokes and do silly stuffs to make everybody in the kitchen laugh and feel better. Really... the only way the kitchen crew stays sane is by being crazy. Hehehe! =)
Stacy gave me a lift home (Thanks Stacy!). Then I had to deal with another issue... something concerning a close friend, her boyfriend... and a quarrel that's gone horribly wrong. But... that's a different episode altogether. =)
